*Note: you’ll be happy to know that it was quite easy to keep both Al Gore and Michael Moore off this list.

Maybe it's because I want to be like him, or at least be the filmmaker he is, but there is something about Morgan Spurlock's personality that keeps you hooked. I'm never sure what compels him to do the things he does. He has the humor of Dave Chappelle, the insanity of Timothy Treadwell, the presence of Rev. Billy, the satire of Michael Moore and the openness and kindheartedness of MC Frontalot, all mixed with some good ol' fashioin American persona. Could there be a better option for best on camera presence? I think not.
Easily the most fascinating person I've ever encountered in a film. There are moments when you wonder if he truly would try to kill one of his band members for looking at him, only to find him 10 minutes later composing an impressive song. Watching Anton is like watching (Christian Bale's character) in American Psycho. You are horrified and want him to change... but you'd rather let someone else bring this opinion forward.
if you can imagine being the biggest celebrity in your world and still feeling totally insecure then you have an idea of what MC Frontalot is made of. A proud nerd who also seeks the respect of hip hop fans, MC Frontalot inspires thousands of fellow calculator lovers while secretly contemplating if his career will amount to anything. It's a fascinating combination that every human embodies- only he's willing to let audiences into his private world.

Treadwell makes the kid from Into the Wild look like a tame sissy. "Oh, you lived alone in Alaska, that's cool, so did I... only with Grizzly Bears!" Treadwell's personality is so bizarre its fascinating- like a car accident you just can’t take your eyes off. Even when you know the result of his absurdity, you just can't turn away. Whether you judge him or appreciate him, either way, you'll remember him.
An anarchist who refuses the title because it constrains him, Dylan (during the 1960s and 1970s) was someone you really wanted to study... from a distance. Never one to be pinned down, he would reflect on life then turn around and immediately deny ever saying it. Frustrating for reporters and critics, Dylan only seems to appreciate those who love his music for the way it makes them feel, not for what it means. Naturally, the Dylan from No Direction Home would take issue with even this sumation.
Chappelle is hilarious and by all accounts a great judge of music. Of all the stand up comedians to develop a documentary, he by far and away does the best job of keeping it interesting. Yes, he smokes a ton of weed and may or may not be tetering on the edge of insanity, but that only further cements his place on this list.
Sometimes its the villains who end up becoming the most fascinating characters and Billy certainly falls in this category. Besides being the king of arcade video games for 20+ years, he's shrewed, cunning and heartless. His wife also happens to look like she came straight from Vegas. Though editing, etc may make him appear much worse then he actually is, Billy reminds us that real life villains do exist... even in the world of competitive gaming.
His picture alone puts him in contention for this list. Add the fact that he leads the Church of Stop Shopping- consisting of a revival meetings on street corners, complete with choir and all- and you have yourself a wonderful personality. Part Elvis, part televangelist, Rev. Billy is everything you want in a man competing with the marketing world.

I made this list and realized there was a surprising lack of a female figure and I simply can’t allow that. If you've seen Confessions of a Superhero, you'll understand why she quickly made this list. She's gorgeous, genuine, honest and completely caring. Of course it only helps that she dresses up as Wonderwoman on a regular basis. Now if only she were edgy enough to strike down some vengeance and she'd easily be in the top 5.
Poor Skip. All he wants to do is protect the small, imaginary kingdom he and his friends just created. He's a man who desires to lead a nation and right injustices in a fantasy world that has already rescued him from the realities of being unemployed. Every man has illusions of grandeur, and Skip is one of the few men willing to try and make those reality. Unfortunately for him, even in this fantasy world, adversity rises to consume him. Will he overcome tyranny and lead his kingdom to victory, or will he end up a king without a crown?
